Frequently asked questions

What are the products offered?
QED Capital offers the IndexAlpha smallcase, which we believe should be the “Core” of every investor’s long-term portfolio. It is a portfolio of passively managed Index ETFs which have a track record of out performing actively managed mutual fund portfolios primarily because of low cost and probability of picking an outperforming active fund consistently being lower than a coin toss i.e. less than 50%., Both these forces compound over the long run and lead to under performance by actively managed funds. This is a proven phenomenon both academically and in practice, globally and in India. Hence, we advocate that majority of your equity investment portfolio should comprise of passively managed index trackers.
What is their investment philosophy?
Investment products are a means to enable us to achieve our financial goals and they should be simple to understand and transparently priced. Our philosophy is that an investor’s long term portfolio should consist of a “Core” portfolio and “Explore” portfolio., We advocate that an investor’s “Core” portfolio should comprise of passively managed instruments like Index ETFs and “Explore” portfolio should comprise of actively managed instruments like equities. Our approach is to manage both these components with a systematic process to reduce investor biases. You can read more about these investor biases here
